Chocolate drum, distillery and EmA at the TU Dortmund summer festival

The Faculty BCI presented itself with interesting contributions at today's summer party of TU Dortmund University, which was held again after a two-year break.

At the chocolate drum, the visitors were able to see how the chocolate is applied to the nuts, namely heated via a nozzle onto the hazelnut kernels rotating in a coating drum. The finished product was immediately tasted and found to be good. The guests learned at a distillery that there is a pre-run not only in sports. The separation apparatus operated on a semi-technical scale was used to demonstrate how alcohol is distilled. The alcohol concentrations achieved in the preliminary, middle and final run were determined on site using a spindle. The projects of this year's "Engineering meets Art (EmA)" were not only exhibited in the BCI gallery but made directly tangible. For example, in the "Soundscape of a Landscape", viewers can not only marvel at pictures but also receive the associated ambient sounds at the same time. The "Chamber of Mindfulness" is about sounds from everyday life that we hardly notice anymore, and visitors are encouraged to listen intensively. The summer festival was a successful event and we are looking forward to next year.
