Groundbreaking ceremony for the extension of the DDIC
Since the end of 2017, the BCI faculty has been working on advanced manufacturing processes and dosage forms of modern drugs in the Drug Delivery Innovation Center (DDIC) founded by TU Dortmund University, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Bayer AG, LB Bohle GmbH, Merck KGaA and UCB S.A.. On September 10, 2021, the groundbreaking ceremony for a 1,200 m² extension costing approximately EUR 6 million took place. This will be built at the INVITE research center on the Chempark site in Leverkusen and will provide laboratory and office space for about 25 additional workplaces. The BCI faculty is significantly involved in the DDIC with Prof. Gerhard Schembecker, Prof. Gabriele Sadowski, Dr. Christoph Brandenbusch and Prof. Markus Thommes. Further.
