15 chairs and laboratories at the Department of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering conduct research on the basis of a close interlinking of natural and engineering sciences. The faculty consists of natural scientists and engineering scientists, uses this potential, which is unique in Germany, to achieve its research goals. The focus of the faculty's research is on the development and improvement of safe, environmentally and resource-friendly and effective material-converting production processes.
