16 chairs and laboratories at the Faculty of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering conduct research on the basis of a close interlinking of natural and engineering sciences. The faculty, half of which consists of natural scientists and half of engineering scientists, uses this potential, which is unique in Germany, to achieve its research goals. The focus of the faculty's research is on the development and improvement of safe, environmentally and resource-friendly and effective material-converting production processes.
Numerous national and international cooperations and research projects, publications and lectures, awards, offices and patents testify to the innovative power and competence of BCI's scientists.
