BCI presents itself at the TU Dortmund University Open Day
Many visitors took the opportunity last Saturday to take part in guided tours of the BMP, REC and TB laboratories and find out about current research topics. In her presentation, Dr. Lena Winand talked about the possibility of producing drugs using predatory bacteria, Prof. Toni Goßmann reported on omics (r)evolution and Dr. Paul Kerzel informed prospective students about the BCI's degree courses. The exhibits on Engineering meets Art (EmA) and the facets of BCI were very popular in the BCI gallery. Here, visitors had the opportunity to control a chemical plant themselves, microscope microorganisms, make peppermint pastilles or find out about the ChemCar, how a sewage treatment plant works, the production of beer and kimchi or the concrete implementation of the Omics project.
