The laying of the foundation stone for the new research building CALEDO (Center for Advanced Liquid-Phase Engineering) took place on 23.09.2021. Rector Prof. Manfred Bayer, speaker Prof. Gabriele Sadowski, architect Prof. Eckhard Gerber and representatives of the federal and state governments filled a time capsule, which was then sunk into the floor slab of the new building.

With CALEDO, an internationally visible research center for the design of fluids is being built at TU Dortmund University. The research building, which is being funded by the federal government and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia with approx. 70 million euros, will make an important contribution to the research activities at TU Dortmund and the RESOLV Cluster of Excellence. Completion of the building, which will house around 100 people, is scheduled for 2024.
