Marc Meier wins prototype competition

Marc Meier, a member of staff at the Chair of Plant and Process Engineering under Kerstin Wohlgemuth, has won the CET's 2025 prototype competition!

A total of ten innovative concepts were awarded, each of which will receive €5,000 in funding."

The money will be invested in process analytical technology (PAT) to enable in-line measurements of the residual moisture and purity of the powder leaving the Continuous Vacuum Screw Filter (CVSF), enabling robust product quality control. The CVSF is a patented modular apparatus for particle isolation within a continuous crystal process chain for integrated solid-liquid separation, washing and drying of high value particulate products.

The competition supports the development of innovative technologies that offer added value for the environment and society. The evaluation criteria included:

  • Degree of innovation
  • Technical feasibility and prototype maturity (technology readiness level)
  • Social relevance
  • Economic potential
  • Transferability and scalability
