100th doctorate under Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Engell

The dissertation is entitled "Design and Monitoring of Economics Oriented Model Predictive Control for Chemical Processes under Uncertainty"
and deals with methods for developing robust control solutions for chemical processes that should also function reliably under real operating conditions.
The examination committee consisted of Prof. Jorge Trierweiler (UFRGS, Porto Alegre, Brazil) as well as Prof. Norbert Kockmann and Prof. Stephan Lütz from the BCI department.
With the successful defense of Mr. Tatulea-Codrean, Prof. Engell has reached a special milestone in his many years of work at TU Dortmund University: a total of 100 doctoral students have now successfully completed their doctoral theses with him, many of whom are now making a significant contribution to research and industry in the field of process systems technology.
The examination was followed by a small celebration with current and former employees. This provided an opportunity for a professional exchange and to look back on joint research work from previous years.
