On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), Dr. Thomas Seidensticker (Chair of Technical Chemistry) has received a grant from the Agency of Renewable Resources (FNR) to establish and lead a junior research group. Congratulations!
The independent junior research group Renewlysis (Renewables and Catalysis) will work on the project "Value-added oriented development of chemocatalytic upgrading reactions of oleochemicals" from January 2021 for an initial period of three years. Innovative technological approaches for the manufacture of products from renewable raw materials will be researched. The aim is to shift the focus of the chemical industry from mineral oil to renewable raw materials and thus to increased sustainability. The project is being funded with EUR 1.1 million.
