1st place for the BCI ChemCar team

We congratulate this year's team (Andre Grütering, Simon Janssen, Tobias Joemann, Jonas Mülders) with their ChemCar "DeltaTU" on winning 1st place in the ChemCar Competition 2025.

Over the past year, the team has developed a concept in which the reaction heat of the exothermic synthesis of an ionic liquid is used to drive the car by means of a thermoelectric generator. The color change of the proven iodine clock was used as the stopping reaction.

With their sophisticated and innovative concept, the team was able to convince the jury of the ChemCar competition on Wednesday (September 24) at PARTEC and prevail against the strong international competition.

Congratulations!

Interested Master's students can register for the 2026 ChemCar competition in Moodle from today until 31.10.25!

The ChemCar competition team proudly presents their self-developed vehicle. The team members wear white lab coats and stand around the vehicle, which is placed on a table. The vehicle consists of various components, including a transparent box that makes the technical elements visible, as well as an engine and other mechanical parts.
