3rd place in the chemPLANT competition by our Wind2Shield team

The theme of this year's ChemPLANT competition (https://www.vdi.de/tg-fachgesellschaften/vdi-gesellschaft-verfahrenstechnik-und-chemieingenieurwese...) was: "chemBlade: Efficient recycling of rotor blades from wind turbines".

The team's task was to find an innovative and creative recycling path for glass fiber reinforced plastics, a main component of the rotor blades, that reduces the ecological footprint and uses sustainable processes to either recover the original source materials or generate an alternative product. 17 teams from various universities across Germany competed against each other.

Selin Özel, Laura Jakobsen-Urwald, Luis Ohm and Paul Lindner impressed the jury with their Wind2Shield concept and qualified for the pitch final as one of the three best teams among the 8 teams admitted to the "International Congress on Particle Technology (PARTEC)" in Nuremberg. There they successfully presented their process idea on the big stage in front of the congress participants and achieved third place.

We would like to congratulate our team and are proud of our students!
