BCI at the summer festival of the TU Dortmund
The BCI presented itself with three projects. In addition to information on microorganisms that surround us every day and that we use to produce foods such as kimchi, wine and beer as well as active ingredients, there was a demonstration of how alcohol is distilled in a laboratory.
The visitors learned about the differences between the pre-, mid- and post-distillation processes.
The tabletting machine, a standard piece of equipment in the pharmaceutical industry, also attracted great interest. It was used at the summer festival to produce peppermint pastilles, which sold like hot cakes.
