In the winter semester of 2022/23, the BCI's sponsoring and alumni association (fabcing) called for participation in the 3rd Sustainability Competition. The students were asked to work on the highly topical subject of "Power2Change - Chemical Energy Storage of the Future".

Storing wind and solar energy as electrical energy over a longer period of time is currently still problematic. Therefore, electricity surpluses are often converted into hydrogen by means of electrolysis. However, since the energy infrastructure is only conditionally designed for hydrogen, a further step after electrolysis makes sense. The students were asked to develop possible solutions for this. The results have now been presented to the jury of fabcing members at a final event. Hauke Rohde, Tim Knittel and Birger Vedder-Stute were awarded 1st place, followed by Mayur S. Solanki, Ekaterina A. Gorshneva and Kshitijaa R. Yadav, who took 2nd place. The joint 3rd place was shared by Jan Seemann and Sarthak Bhutani and Shreyas Parbat. Congratulations to all participants!
